Jeff Amsden's dance career has taken him from coast to coast and from Europe to Japan and back. Jeff studied on Scholarship at the Joffrey Ballet School in NY and danced with its company the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group for three years as a featured dancer. Jeff then danced with Finis Jung's Chamber Ballet USA. His television credits include The Guiding Light, Coach, The Tracy Ullman show (choreography by Paula Abdul) , The American Music Awards, The Academy Awards (choreographed by Michael Kidd) Series Regular on Dancin' To the Hits, Paula Abduls Dance partner in her hit video and number one single Blowing Kisses in the Wind. The 100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty Television Special as partner to Shirley Maclaine and featured with the Pointer Sisters, He also appeared on the Martin Luther King Television Special Tribute from the Kennedy Center dancing with Debbie Allen and Michael Peters and once again the Pointer Sisters. His Film Credits include, Back to the Future part 2, Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston (choreographed by Rob Marshall) Joan Lui in (Italian Feature Film) Leonard Part 6 with Bill Cosby, And the Band Played On with Richard Gere. He has appeared in numerous commercials such as Sticklets gum partnering Broadway Veteran Charlotte D'amboise and is most known as Eddie the Chocolate Bear in the Teddy Graham cookie commercials. His theater credits include working with Jerome Robbins on the workshop for Jerome Robbins Broadway and the Original, LA company of Phantom of the Opera with Michael Crawford dancing the male lead.
Choreography credits include the creation of the hit show A Few Good Men Dancin which has toured the USA and the world. The Original West End production of Saturday Night Fever where he was the assistant choreographer to Director Arlene Phillips, Grease at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Bette Midler's 1999 show in NY, Productions in Japan such as The Golden Boy and The Rink. He is the staff choreographer for All My Children in NY and has also choreographed for The Guiding Light. Other choreography credits include numerous dance companies, commercials and live stage events for recording artists, He has taught on faculty at The Edge Performing Arts Center in LA and teaches at Broadway Dance Center in NY. He has been a guest teacher at LA Dance Magic, Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, LA Dance Force and many Universities in the US and Abroad.
Jeff's students have gone on to perform in videos, television specials on Broadway, as Radio City Rocketts and with performers such as Janet Jackson and Madonna.
