Dena Monroe's dance traning began at the young age of three. She has now been a dance educator, choreographer and performer for the past ten years. She pursued her studies in the Toledo area and at the Ohio University in Athens, where she became one of the first freshmen to make the dance team. She then ventured to Orlando, Florida and danced for Universal Studios. Florida offered her many great opportunities to grow such as being trained by Emmy-nominated choreographer Glenn Douglas Packard. After four years of vigorous dancing Dena returned home to Toledo, Ohio where she joined the Bedford and Sylvania Academies of Dance. She enjoyed being their assistant director and competition director. Her choreography has been recognized as outstanding at many competitions throughout the U.S. Recently, she was the recipient of the honorable, Cathy Roe's Ultimate Choreography Award.
Dena hopes to continue her journey as an artist, instructor, and choreographer. She wishes to inspire, and be continually inspired by those who so hoenstly give of their talent and themselves. She continues to create work pushing new movement, strong technique, honesty, emotional commitment, and growth. It is an evolutionary journey with no boundaries, no limites, and no end!
